I am an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and Investment Advisor Representative who works comprehensively with clients to help them gain clarity around their long-term wealth management decisions.
My wife, Jennifer, and I are actively involved with the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Each year, we invite our community to join us at the Cleveland Wine Opener to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition, Jennifer and I host an annual volleyball tournament in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, called "Bump, Set, Cure Found" to raise additional funds for this important cause. We will continue this fight until CF truly stands for Cure Found.
My “Why” I have had several life experiences that led me to a calling to help others. When I watched my father’s retirement be significantly reduced after the company he worked for, where he started at age 16 and rose steadily over 27 years, declare bankruptcy, it profoundly impacted me. He lost his job, his pension, and, most importantly, the financial security he relied on to support his family.
That experience taught me two powerful lessons: hard work matters, and some things are simply beyond our control. In another difficult chapter, my father lost a substantial amount of money in company stock options just months before retirement due to embezzlement committed within the organization he helped build. As a result, he had to continue working for another 15 years before he felt comfortable retiring. Although his dedication and effort had paid off, outside forces damaged not only his retirement portfolio but also his family’s sense of security and future plans. While his story ultimately ended well, the lessons have stayed with me.
One of the most important things I learned is this: find an advisor who works professionally and personally for you. It is critical not to put all your eggs in one basket, and retirement planning should not rely solely on your employer. Having an independent, trusted advocate can make all the difference.
Let's face facts: You might have an investment portfolio you manage yourself, a 401(k) from your employer, and even a few life insurance policies picked up over the years. Do they all work together, or are the pieces of your financial life operating independently and without a plan?
